Anstruther, Crail and Elie

At the beginning of September (yikes, that seems like a long time ago!), we did a little day trip to a few of the coastal towns here. Technically, we were searching for the best fish & chips in the world, but we also found time to walk around and explore a bit too. Here are a few pictures if you'd like to see...

First of all, we had an amazingly sunny day which was perfect for being on the water. We started in Anstruther, a fishing village north of Kirkcaldy. First stop: Anstruther Fish Bar for fish & chips.

We had heard that this place was famous (and it was delicious), but we also heard that The Wee Chippy is even better, so we went there next (we were sharing, by the way).

The verdict: The Wee Chippy won that round.

With our mission accomplished, we spent the rest of the day walking it off. In Anstruther we walked up and down the main street and looked at the boats in the harbor....

Then we headed a few minutes up the road to Crail, where we did a loop around town.

And finally, the last stop was Elie where we found a great little pub with outdoor seating right on the beach which was the perfect spot for our afternoon tea/coffee...

...and one last walk on the beach before heading back to Kirkcaldy.

We're heading into fall now but the weather this month has been so amazing and we've been really lucky. Looking forward to many more day trips like this!
